The Shelly 50A Current Transformer Clamp is designed for accurate, non-invasive current measurement in compatible Shelly energy-monitoring installations. It converts larger primary current values into smaller, standardised values that can be safely interpreted by the connected measuring device. The secondary current remains proportional to the current flowing through the monitored conductor, allowing the compatible Shelly meter to calculate and display electrical consumption.
With a maximum current rating of 50A, this current transformer is suitable for monitoring individual electrical circuits and appliances within its supported measuring range. Typical applications may include lighting circuits, socket circuits, water heaters, air-conditioning units, pumps and other residential or commercial electrical loads.
The split-core clamp design allows it to be fitted around an existing electrical conductor without cutting or disconnecting the conductor itself. Only one conductor should pass through the clamp. Placing both the live and neutral conductors through the same current transformer will prevent correct measurement because their magnetic fields cancel each other out.
The attached CT cable has a length of 60 cm, providing convenient routing inside a suitable electrical enclosure or distribution board. The current transformer creates a negligible load on the primary electrical circuit and is intended exclusively for current measurement when connected to a compatible Shelly energy-monitoring device.
Please note that this is an accessory and cannot measure energy, connect to Wi-Fi or communicate with the Shelly Smart Control app independently. A compatible Shelly energy meter is required to process the signal and provide current, power and energy-consumption information.
Important: This 50A Current Transformer Clamp is not compatible with Shelly Pro 3EM. Before ordering, check the model and technical documentation of your Shelly measuring device to confirm compatibility. Do not exceed the rated current of the transformer.
Installation must be completed with the electrical supply safely isolated and should be performed by a qualified electrician. Always observe the correct clamp orientation, conductor placement and wiring instructions supplied with the compatible Shelly device.
